I hallucinate all the time with no sleep paralysis before going to sleep and waking up but not like anyone else experience I read up on and none of it is scary to me, I will hear music and sound at times amazing on explainable music like nothing I ever before in my life few times I heard voices talking and will see all kinds of images and patterns colors sometimes lights and at times it is like I am looking at the sun into brightly colored lights with my eyes closed and when I wake up sometimes I suffer from dissertation of not knowing where I am and even sometimes who I am where I am at and take about 5 to 10 seconds for it all to come back to me but during that time I will see things in the room that actually are not there or think I am in different place entirely, I suffer from extreme exhaustion and steepness all day and take many hard naps but I not heard more than 7 hours straight of sleep in years just broken patterns of 2 hour then later 3 hours then later 3 more hours and do this all day but at night I sometime cannot sleep at all, I have tried so hard to get my sleep scheduled to a full night and awake in the day but it just doesn’t work and no matter how much I sleep I am still exhausted and foggy all day long. I wonder if I have Narcolepsy but not been tested just been dealing with this all my life but it been getting worse lately. How do I get started for testing on what could be happening.

You start with your GP. Explain what is happening and that you would like to be referred to (preferably) a Neurologist who is an expert in Sleep medicine. That specialist will most likely order an overnight study called a PSG to be followed the next day by an MSLT. IF the psg shows apnea, then the daytime study (mslt) will be cancelled because the apnea must be dealt with first. If cpap compliance takes care of the apnea, you’re home free. If you continue to be sleepy even with the cpap, then the psg followed by the mslt will be rescheduled but you will use your cpap during the tests.
You may want to do some research and find out who are the best sleep medicine Doctors is your area to help your GP. I wish you the very best of luck and we are here to help you in your journey.
